Polyurethane Varnish Matt

Polyurethane 3+1 Glossy Varnish is a two-component, polyurethane-based, high-gloss finishing varnish. It is used with a 3:1 ratio of polyisocyanate-based hardener. It has high chemical and physical resistance; it forms a hard, glossy and durable film on the applied surface. It is resistant to UV rays, external weather conditions and yellowing. Provides long-lasting protection with a decorative appearance.

Surface Preparation and Application Method

The surface must be clean, dry, and completely free from dust, oil and silicone residues. Base coat paint and primer applications must be completely dry.

Mixing Ratio

  • 3 parts Polyurethane Gloss Varnish
  • 1 part Polyurethane Hardener
  • 10 – 20% Polyurethane Thinner (adjusted according to the application method)

Application Instructions

  • It is recommended to apply 2 coats with a gun
  • Wait between coats: 5 – 10 minutes
  • Gun pressure: 2 – 2.5 bar
  • Nozzle diameter: 1.3 – 1.4 mm
  • Application viscosity: ~20 sec / DIN Cup 4 (20°C)


Packaging

  • Varnish: 1 L – 5 L – 10 L
  • Hardener: 0.33 L – 1.67 L – 3.3 L

Storage

  • Stored in original packaging, between +5°C and +30°C, in a dry and cool place
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and freezing conditions
  • Shelf life: 12 months (under appropriate storage conditions)

Hazard Warnings

  • R10: Flammable
  • R20/21/22: Harmful by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed
  • R36/38: Eye and skin may cause irritation
  • R43: May cause allergic reactions
  • R66/67: May cause dry skin and dizziness

Safety advice

  • S2: Keep away from children
  • S16: Keep away from fire, no smoking
  • S24/25: Avoid contact with eyes and skin
  • S36/37/39: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye protection
  • S51: Use only in well-ventilated areas
  • S56: Dispose of waste in accordance with environmental legislation

Area to be Covered

Approximately 8 – 10 m² of surface can be covered with 1 liter of mixture
(50 – 60 micron dry film thickness is taken as basis)

Drying Time (23°C / 50% relative humidity)

  • Dust-free: 15 – 20 minutes
  • Touch dry: 1 – 2 hours
  • Full dry: 12 – 24 hours
  • Oven drying (optional): 60°C for 30 minutes
