Polyurethane Hardener

Polyurethane Hardener is a special hardener that initiates the reaction and cures the film in polyisocyanate-based, two-component polyurethane systems. It is used with polyurethane paints, varnishes and primers. It increases the chemical, mechanical and atmospheric resistance of the film layer. Formulated for long-lasting and durable results in professional industrial applications.

Features

  • Regulates reaction time and drying speed
  • Increases chemical and mechanical resistance
  • Provides hard, durable and elastic film formation
  • Minimizes color yellowing and fading
  • Compatible varieties are available with UV-resistant paint systems
  • Low viscosity – easy to mix, smooth spreads

Area of Use

  • Polyurethane top coat paints
  • Polyurethane primers
  • Polyurethane varnish systems (matte, gloss, semi-matte)
  • Floor coating systems
  • Automotive, wood, metal and industrial painting applications

Mixing Ratio (General)

  • Varies according to the type of polyurethane system
    • Primers: 4:1
    • Paints: 2:1 or 4:1
    • Varnishes: 2:1 or 3:1
  • If necessary, with 5–10% Polyurethane Thinner can be diluted
  • Pot Life: 2 – 4 hours (at 23°C)

Consumption / Coatability

  • Not applied alone
  • Varies according to the consumption amount of the system in which it is used
  • Average: 1 liter of hardener is sufficient for 2 – 4 liters of polyurethane product

Effect on Drying Time (23°C / 50% relative humidity)

  • Does not collect dust: 10 – 20 minutes
  • Touch dry: 30 – 60 minutes
  • Full dry: 6 – 8 hours
  • Chemical and mechanical resistance: Maximum level after 7 days reaches

Packaging

0.25 L – 0.5 L – 1 L – 2.5 L – 5 L – 10 L metal containers

Storage

  • Store in original, closed packaging between +5°C and +30°C
