Floor Epoxy Primer

Ground Epoxy Primer is a two-component, solvent or solvent-free, epoxy resin-based surface preparation material with high adhesion strength. It is applied before self-leveling, epoxy or polyurethane floor coating systems, ensuring a strong bond between the surface and the coating. It is used to saturate absorbent surfaces, prevent dusting and increase adhesion.

Features

  • High adhesion strength and surface penetration
  • Prevents dusting, strengthens the surface
  • Fully compatible with top coat epoxy and polyurethane systems
  • Penetrates deeply into concrete surfaces
  • Easy to apply, fast-drying structure
  • Solvent or solvent-free options are available
  • Can be applied with roller, brush or airless

Application Area

  • Concrete and cement based floors
  • Industrial areas such as factories, warehouses, workshops, parking lots
  • Before epoxy, polyurethane coatings
  • As a primer under epoxy paint systems
  • Hygienic areas such as laboratories and hospitals

Surface Preparation and Application Method

Surfaces must be clean, dry, solid, completely free of oil, dirt, paint residue and loose particles. Surface moisture content must be maximum 5%. If necessary, the surface should be prepared by shot blasting, scraping or sanding.

Mixing Ratio (A + B)

Generally 2:1 (Resin:Hardener) – may vary according to manufacturer’s recommendations.

Dilution (For solvent systems)

  • Can be thinned with 5–10% epoxy thinner
  • No thinning is required for solvent-free systems

Application Conditions

  • Ambient temperature: +10°C – +30°C
  • Surface temperature: Above +5°C
  • Humidity: Max. %80
  • Application: Brush, roller or airless gun

Area to be covered

Depending on surface absorbency:

  • 200 – 300 g/m² (in thin film applications)
  • 300 – 500 g/m² (on very porous surfaces)

Drying Time (23°C / 50% relative humidity)

  • Touch dry: 4 – 6 hours
  • Can be coated: 8 – 24 hours
  • Full cure: 7 days

Packaging

  • A Component (Resin): 10 kg
  • B Component (Hardener): 5 kg
  • Total set: 15 kg
  • (3 kg - 6 kg packages are also available upon request)

Storage

  • Store between +10°C and +30°C in cool, dry environments and away from direct sunlight
  • Shelf life: 12 months (in closed original packaging)

Hazard Warnings

  • R36/38: May cause eye and skin irritation
  • R43: May cause allergic reactions
  • R51/53: Aquatic may be toxic to organisms

Safety Recommendations

  • S24/25: Avoid contact with eyes and skin
  • S37/39: Wear suitable gloves and eye protection
  • S51: Use only in well-ventilated areas
  • S56: Dispose of waste in accordance with environmental legislation
