Acrylic Top Coat Matt Varnish

Acrylic Matte 3+1 Varnish is a two-component, acrylic resin-based, matte-looking topcoat varnish system. It has been developed to provide a natural matte finish especially in automotive, motorcycle, metal and wood surface applications. It creates an aesthetic and protective topcoat in indoor and outdoor applications with its UV-resistant structure, scratch and chemical resistance.

Surface Preparation and Application Method

The surface to be varnished must be completely dry, clean, dust-free and oil-free after paint application. It is recommended to use it with suitable primer and top coat paint systems for the best result.


Packaging

  • 1 L – 3 L – 12 L sets (Varnish and hardener in separate packages)

Storage

  • Should be stored in original packaging, in a cool and dry place
  • Should be stored between +5°C and +30°C, protected from frost and sun
  • Shelf life: 12 months (in unopened packaging)

  • R10: Flammable
  • R20/21: Harmful by inhalation and in contact with skin
  • R36/38: May cause eye and skin irritation
  • R66/67: May cause skin dryness and dizziness may be

Application Instructions

  • Can be applied with roller, brush or gun
  • Waiting time between coats: 8 – 12 hours
  • Gun pressure: 2 – 2.5 bar
  • Nozzle diameter: 1.5 – 1.8 mm
  • Pot life: 4 – 6 hours (at 20°C)

Mixing Ratio

  • 4 parts Epoxy Matt Paint
  • 1 part Epoxy Hardener
  • 5 – 15% Epoxy Thinner (depending on the application method)

Area Covered

Approximately 7 – 9 m² of area can be covered with 1 liter of mixture (depending on 50 – 60 micron dry film thickness).

Drying Time (23°C / 50% RH)

  • Dust-proof: 1 – 2 hours
  • Touch dry: 4 – 6 hours
  • Full dry: 7 days
  • Light traffic: 24 – 48 hours
  • Oven dry (optional): 60°C for 30 minutes
