Acrylic Top Coat Glossy Varnish

STHANLEX Acrylic 3+1 Glossy Varnish is an acrylic resin based, two-component, solvent-based and high-gloss finishing varnish system. Applied with a 3:1 mixing ratio, this varnish is used in automotive, industrial metal parts, furniture and interior decoration areas. It offers high UV resistance, scratch resistance and deep gloss effect.

Surface Preparation and Application Method

The surface to be applied must be completely cleared of dust, dirt, oil, silicone and old paint residues. It should be applied on surfaces prepared and sanded with acrylic primer or suitable filler primer.

Mixing Ratio

3 parts varnish + 1 part hardener + 5–15% Acrylic Thinner

Application Instructions

  • The prepared mixture should be rested for 10-15 minutes.
  • 2-coat application is recommended (with a gun), 5–10 minutes should be allowed between coats.
  • Ideal application pressure: 2–2.5 bar.
  • Application viscosity: 18–22 sec / DIN4 / 20°C.

Area that can be covered

A 1-liter mixture can cover an area of ​​8–10 m². (Two-layer application and ~50–60 micron dry film thickness are taken as basis.)

Drying Time (20°C / 50% RH)

  • Dust-free: 15–20 minutes
  • Touch dry: 1–2 hours
  • Full dry: 12 hours
  • Oven dry: 30 minutes at 60°C

Drying time may vary depending on ambient conditions.

Packaging

  • 1.33 kg set (1 kg varnish + 0.33 kg hardener)
  • 4 kg set (3 kg varnish + 1 kg hardener)
  • 12 kg set (9 kg varnish + 3 kg hardener)

Storage

  • Stored in original packaging, in a cool and dry environment between +5°C and +30°C
  • Protected from sunlight and frost
  • Shelf life: 12 months (in unopened packaging)

Hazard Warnings

  • R10: Flammable
  • R20/21: Harmful by inhalation and in contact with skin
  • R36/38: May cause eye and skin irritation
  • R66/67: May cause dry skin and dizziness

Surface Preparation and Application Method

The surface to be applied must be dry, clean, dust-free and fully compatible with the base paint. The base coat must be completely dry and the surface must be cleaned.

Mixing Ratio (A + B):

  • 3:1 (3 parts varnish + 1 part hardener)
  • If necessary, dilute with Acrylic Thinner at a rate of 5 – 15%

Area to be Covered

Approximately 8 – 10 m² of surface can be covered with 1 liter of mixture
(According to 30 – 40 micron dry film thickness)

Drying Time (23°C / 50% relative humidity)

  • Dust-free: 10 – 15 minutes
  • Touch dry: 30 – 45 minutes
  • Full dry: 6 – 8 hours
  • Final hardness and shine: 24 – 48 hours
